Its that time of the year that you are all worked up and anxious about the upcoming exams. A lot of you are already thinking about pulling the exam entry because you are not prepared. Or you must be thinking, the syllabus is never going to get completed, what’s the point of studying? Or there could be tons of other reasons on why you shouldn’t sit the exam.
Firstly PRACTICE is the key. Not just reading the textbooks, or reading the solutions, irrespective of how many time you do it, unless you don’t write them, unless you don’t solve them, it’s a difficult exam to crack. Therefore if you really want to ensure that your speed is upto the mark, you are able to put your thoughts in the time bound manner, then PRACTICE solving the questions and writing the long answers. Do the past papers, exam kits, mocks, everything you can!
So the first week of ACCA exams were slightly challenging due to the technical issues with the On Vue systems, ACCA’s proctoring partner or atleast that was the feedback we got from the students that we connected with. So there were huge wait times at the check in, some had to wait almost for over 2 hours to get in and start their exams. Some unfortunately couldn’t give the exams despite all the wait.
Why do we say this? It’s largely because of the fact that some students can just do a textbook and pass, while some will do every bit of practice material and still fail. Therefore, it’s important we put in some method this this madness. Firstly, make sure you have done the textbook thoroughly before you start to attempt the exam questions. This is primarily because ACCA exams are based on concepts and therefore without knowing the why’s of the subject, you won’t be able to answer the subjectiv
