1. Responsibilities and Scope
a. Impact / Scope
• Supervise and support service delivery of Tax processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reports
• Assist the team lead to drive process improvement initiatives and projects
• Manage training and mentoring of team
• Support coordination with other functions (including leadership) as well as Global Process Owners within a Shared Service Center (SSC)
b. Responsibilities
• Responsible for day-to-day Tax processes (Indirect tax compliance, Tax reconciliation, Tax filing, Transfer Pricing including Intercompany processing and calculations, provision of direct tax data), ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reports
o Review and support the filing of EMEA and APJ indirect tax returns
o Review that the data inputs to prepare the indirect tax returns are complete and the computations are accurate
o Review and support the preparation of provision of direct tax data to external advisers
o Review and support the preparation of tax reconciliations
o Review and support Intercompany transaction processing and calculations and ensure they are accurately recorded and complete
o Review and support the updates of activity lists and tax work schedules and ensure documents are filed to maintain historical records
o Provide advisory support to resolve routine queries from the finance team and business
o Support and coordinate the audit process (Internal Audits, SOX Audit, Local Statutory Audit, External (Process & Systems): liaise with auditors to finalise list of deliverables and documentation needed for audit, and provide necessary explanations
• Report the KPIs / SLA’s to the management / employees (Ad-hoc and MIS Reporting) and deliver Service Management Framework
• Supervise and follow up to ensure that all reporting activities are executed timely, accurately and with the required quality ensuring compliance with SOX
• Ensure performance measures are met or exceeded in order to drive performance and process efficiencies
• Ensure knowledge and expertise is maintained, developed and exchanged within the team (including cross-training within the team)
• Be proactive and innovative with ideas to improve service based on current performance and risk understanding
• Work with process teams to drive projects and lead new transitions

2. Required Skills and Experience
a. Education and Experience
• Accounting qualifications will be an essential (ACCA member,CA, CPA)
o 6-10 years’ experience
• Experience of working in a Tax function (Indirect tax compliance, Tax reconciliation, Tax filing, Transfer Pricing including Intercompany processing and calculations, provision of direct tax data)
• Direct relevant experience of working in a Captive SSC / Business Process Outsourcing Organisations will be desired (in addition to years of experience/qualification)
b. Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
• Experience in Tax areas such as Indirect Tax / VAT, Direct Tax, Intercompany / Transfer Pricing Tax / International Tax
• Up to date technical knowledge of VAT and indirect rules and awareness of corporate Tax rules
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) / US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) Accounting
• Excellent knowledge of operation of control frameworks such as SoX
• Strong experience of finance & accounting systems (Oracle / SAP / Netsuite / Assurenet tools) as well as Tax Applications
• Flexibility to support different time-zones and geographies
• Flexibility to travel across geographies
• Experience in activities related to tax advisory, deal support etc. will be preferred
• Able to embrace the challenges of managing senior onshore customers through daily/hourly interactions
• Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly articulate expectations and outcomes with various levels of management, both in Finance and Business
• Fluency in English (both verbal and written)
